I chopped it off!!

I cut all the craziness off! I was growing my hair out. For what?- I don't know. Found a picture I liked and decided to take the plunge and get rid of it. The kids hate it, Jared likes it, and I love it. So much easier, less time blow drying it, less food and sticky found in it, and a little more sassy.

Bubble Snakes

The weather was perfect Thursday so we took time to make Bubble Snakes. Super easy...water bottle, old sock and bubbles. Lots of fun! The only problem we ran into was the kids sucking for air through the bottle which made soapy solution go down their throats. Not so yummy- but they got the hang of it fast.

Love

Found Mea asleep, with a book, light on. My heart melted. I hope she falls in love with Shel Silverstien- one of my favorites. She really is as much as an angel as she looks here...most of the time!

Happy Birthday Papa

My Papa's birthday is tomorrow, so this post is for him. For those of you who don't know Papa Davis- he's one of my heroes. I am 29 and am still his one of his babies. I'm not ashamed to admit it. Besides my parents, Papa and Grandma have been my biggest cheerleaders...they have been there for everything,at every sporting event from the time I was 5 no matter if I was running state or sitting the bench, every birth, every wedding, every time I needed, and lots of times when I didn't. At 70 he was on my hands and knees mopping my floors after Jensen was born and is the best supervisor around. Whenever I see yellow felt gloves, avon chapstick, loafers, and the Cardinals- I think of Papa. Thanks for letting me still be one of your babies! So, Happy Birthday Papa! We hope we've made you proud!

Recap

There are tons of pictures and posts- sorry- just trying to catch up. Here's the summer recap. I didn't blog about Michigan, swimming, crafting, playing, or lots of the other ways we spent our time this summer. Sorry- here's the highlights!

1st Grade

Mea started school this morning. She was very excited to go. Her teacher looped- which means same teacher, same classroom, same classmate. This lead to tons less anxiety this morning Check out those shoes- we had to seach the US for pink high top converses. They look great- Thanks Grammy!!

Denver- the place Dreams Come True

After NM we spent some time in Denver. Here is where the magic happened. Mea got to see 'real' mermaids at the Aquarium. She was in heaven! Jaden got to see all the animals he loves at the zoo. He thought they were cool. Jensen got to be pushed around picked up and lots of stangers smiled and talked to him- another happy child. Jared got to visit the Natural History Muesum- Score! Mom- well, she got to see everyone happy and excited. On this vacation everyone went home happy!

Mesa Verde

On the trip, we visited Mesa Verde. It was breath taking! Beautiful and the ingenuity of those ancient people was amazing. We didn't get to visit very many ruins- I was worried about carrying Jensen up the ladders. The ones we did see were so neat. Mea and Shaylee worked hard at the museum to become honorary rangers- the head ranger even made them take a quiz, raise their right hands and pledge an oath (intense- I know!) Even though I got a little car sick on the way up- it was worth it!!

Our Vacation

We went to NM earlier in the summer. Like always it was amazing and relaxing and wonderful to see everyone. It was a little stressful getting there- van trouble, van switch (thanks Erin), and a non-stop 17 hr drive. But the kids are great travelers and we made it. This year I didn't get a ton of pictures, but the kids LOVED riding the mules. Jaden's hats in the pictures crack me up. That boy belongs on a farm for sure!

My little crazy man

Let me tell you a story about Jensen... Here is Jensen at the spray park. Notice this wonderful blue fence...
We were having a blast playing with our friends in Midland. The weather was perfect, the boys were happy. They were confined and out of trouble- I was enjoying adult converstation while everyone played happily. Until...
Jensen figured out he could fit through the fence. I, however, could NOT fit through the fence and had to go around to the gate. This took time and lead to .....
A STINKING, MUDDY MESS!! BOYS- DISCUSTING!!

My Find

I found this chair at a small "hidden treasure store". I love it! The colors are perfect, the print is fun, it is really comfy, all of my children curl up on it, and Mea calls it a princess chair. It is

Catch Up

Okay so I am constantly playing catch up with this blog. Jaden dumped a LARGE glass of water on our last laptop a couple of weeks ago, so that is going to be my excuse for not posting much lately. I will post pictures of Grandma Decker's visit, the new house, and birthdays, but for now I just have a couple of pictures on the ipod to share...
Isn't this the Best thing in the WHOLE WORLD!
And for all of those giving me crap about cutting Jensen's hair...this is why. Before he looked like a refugee, dirty, little, mess. Now what a handsome little man :-)! I know, I know his hair was amazing, but seriously, after eating it was discusting. And days later, even after a bath, I was picking leftovers out of the nappy mess!

Snowmaggedon

I was so sick of the snow I didn't even want to write about it. Now that we have had a break I can look back...but only through pictures...please let the snow be over!! These are some of my favorites from the 20+ inches of snow we had. We ate a lot, played a lot, and Jared shoveled a lot.

Happy Birthday to ME!

For my birthday, I got to choose my family date. So, I chose Shakespears (the best pizza in COMO), and the MU Gymnastics meet. It was the pink out, so I asked everyone to wear pink. Mea was thrilled, the boys aren't old enough to care and my fabulous hubby goes with the flow on these kinds of things! We had a fun evening. Jaden learned the MU cheer...along with the tiger growl....very funny! MIZ....OUUUUUUU (No, I didn't forget the 2nd Z, this is Jaden's way...it rhymes with ewww).

Favorite Christmas Gift

Mea and Jaden have really enjoyed the tent that Grandma Margie and Papa Davis gave them. They got 2, but I refuse to have a tent city in my house, so only Mea's is up (yes, it is still up).
For a couple of days they napped and watched tv from it. Then, it was moved to Mea's room where she slept in it for a week. Now, it is just up in there. When I can't find Mea, she is usually zipped in her tent, hiding from everyone for a little quiet time. Good present Grandma & Papa!
